Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau was founded in 1968 by Peter Huber and has is still a family-owned business. We employ around 300 staff at our headquarters in Offenburg at the Tango Factory. In addition, through international branches and sales partners, we offer a comprehensive and reliable service worldwide. Some twenty years ago, we started by switching to environmentally compatible coolant. A large part of our product range now comes with natural coolants as standard – making us pioneers in the field of ecological and sustainable temperature control technology. Our company is a leader provider of high precision temperature control solutions for research and industry. Our products are used in laboratories, technical facilities and production processes around the world to ensure precise temperature control from -125 to +425 °C.

Our company was founded as an independent company in 1987 following the spin-off of the thiochemical activities of 'C. E.F. Spiess & Sohn GmbH & Co'. What started as a research project after the Second World War became an independent business division by 1954. We are now a wholly-owned subsidiary of 'GECHEM GmbH & Co KG', which acquired its shares from 'Spiess-Urania Chemicals GmbH' in Hamburg in 2006. By the 1950s, we had successfully specialised in the manufacture and sale of fine chemicals which are used as intermediate products in the chemical industry.
